Here are some great tools I have used for many years on the internet. These will help you track, and make money with your website. The extreme tracker, I like very much because it will track your website and show you exactly what keyword your user is finding on the search engines to find you. Its an excellent tool in order to bring up traffic as it allows you to click on the exact link your user clicked on to find your web page, so you can see exactly where your page came up in the listings of google. Link is below.

Another great tool is the adwords keyword tool. This allows you to find exactly what keywords are popular by advertisers on google. You can use this for market research in developing keywords that you need to get which have the highest traffic and payout the most. Link is below.

The share this icon is a share system that you can put on your website, that allows your users to share your page with many of the top social media websites like facebook. It is invaluable!! Link is below. There are many other very important links, please check them all out.

Tips for Maximizing Your Clickthrough

- Make sure your Meta TITLE tag gives a clean, readable overview of the page – and also sells the page!

- Let the search visitor know, in as few words as you can, that they’re very likely to get what they want quickly from this link.

- Keep Meta TITLE tags under 66 characters (for Google). Any longer and the title will be shortened, which may make an incomplete phrase and compromise appeal.

- Avoid the temptation to stuff your Meta TITLE tags with multiple permutations of the same terms. You might get more good rankings, but if the title isn’t appealing, you could sacrifice traffic.

- Always use meta description tags, and use them to sell the click as well.

- Make sure the meta description contains your target search phrase, or Google may grab content from the page instead.

- Keep meta descriptions under about 150 characters, or they will also be chopped off.

- Keep your text short, punchy, to the point. Don’t feel you have to use all the space available. A short Meta Title tag or Meta Description will be easier to read and could work better.

Something you can start on. You need to submit your site to as many directories as possible. If you can do it 1 hour a month, it will be great. 1 hour every 2 weeks and its incredible. 1 hour every week and you will see results quicker. 1 hour every day and within a year you will easily be making money off adsense.

Directories will get you a small amount of traffic, plus good page rank with google, which later you can use to sell links.

This is just stuff you do in your spare time… for fun.. fire and forget. Dont think about how much time it takes or it will be a hassle. Just do a little at a time and it adds up big in the future.

Lets say you have a jewelry site and you want to submit your site to as many directories as possible:

Go to google and type:
jewelry directories

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=jewerly+directories&btnG=Google+Search&meta=#hl=en&sa=X&ei=6pICTtSOJq7ciALPi9X3BA&ved=0CB8QvwUoAQ&q=jewelry+directories&spell=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=97a511600a7064dc&biw=1920&bih=946

FIND THE FREE ONES. If it asks for money, just move on. If you put in all the info and it asks for money just exit. I usually have a notepad open with my:

link
description
keywords
names and phone numbers (i dont usually put real names or phone numbers in and sometimes you cant leave them blank and sometimes i dont want to enter my real name or phone, this doesnt matter)

YOU HAVE TO SEARCH AROUND ON HOW TO ACTUALLY SUBMIT THE URL. SOMETIMES IT ISNT EASY. AFTER DOING IT FOR A BIT, YOU WILL FIND IT QUICKLY. Sometimes its easy and you will find SUBMIT SITE, or ADD URL in the bottom right or top right, sometimes in the middle bottom etc. (add your site etc or sometimes its just a contact us link) Sometimes you will need to make a reciprocal link (that means link back to them) so you may want to create a links page and put their link on that page. Look for the category or submit link right away, if its PAY, leave… dont bother. If its not, then submit.

There are a billion directories out there. If each one gives you 1 hit, and you submit to a lot of them, you will get some really good organic traffic……… AND build your page rank. Building page rank will allow you to sell links, get higher search engine listings, will have people come up to you eventually and ask to buy links on your site and will help with Adsense in the future, AND possible allow you to sell your site at the end, for big cash.

Finding complimentary partners.

Example

I have a site that offers web design. I dont want to link to other web designers…

But I use a lot of photos in photo shop. I could approach a site with HIGH PAGE RANK that does photo restoration. (this is just one idea) I just simple let them know my page rank, traffic stats and it would be a good idea to partner up. Do not make generic messages, personalize them all and you will get better results. It takes awhile to build strong connections so if you fire 10 off and no one accepts, don’t worry and move on.

I could also approach people who make photo shop plugins and ask for a reciprocal link. I check their page rank (i installed the google page rank bar on my firefox) and if their page rank is equal to or more or at least near my page rank, I ask them to become partners. I send them an email with the amount of traffic I am getting and then ask (do this later… as your traffic grows)

Another idea… if I dont want to do advertising, I can link to people who submit websites

Another idea… I can link to people who do BRYCE 3d designs.

I just approach them, let them know my page rank, let them know traffic stats and then ask them if they would like to link and let them know I will place them in a prominent place on my front page. Save these links for the best of the sites with the highest page ranks.

Classified ads

The next thing you can try is type on google

free classifieds

You can save the bookmark of your search in your bookmarks to know what page on google you are at… I just keep going… i have been doing this for years.

This are all things you can do for FREE, that may give you value in the future. Few follow these steps even when ask them to. And most fail. Just do it.

FORUMS:

Write on forums. This is a really good way of organic search engine marketing AND it can bring you a lot of valued traffic. Start this way.

type in google

Jewelry forums

Sign up for an account and talk about what you love!! At the bottom in your signature, put your website. Or even offer your website on the forum (make sure you follow all the forum rules) This is just like talking on facebook or where ever, but the difference is, you are building your business.

Be an expert in your field. Help people and you will be surprised what business opportunities come out of it.

Remember… I dont have time to do all these things either. What I do is just one little thing. 1 day I may just talk on a forum, the other day, I may make a new web page, the other day, I may add my site to directories, and many days I dont do shit The key is just to fire and forget and it adds up big time!

Creating web pages:

Make as many web pages as you can. The more the better. Link them inside your site. Blogs are good for this, or just make a new page for the keyword you desire.

Want the keyword…

pink crystal jewelry

Then make a new page that talks about it. Create it quickly, link it to your front page or at least somewhere and then forget it. I have created over 800 pages…

These are just a few ideas of what you can do, to build long term solid organic traffic as well as build your page rank and your site worth!

Where are Outlook 2003 emails stored?

I’m having to reformat my computer, because i cannot boot up windows. I have a very important email i received through Outlook 2003. Is there any way i can get this email? If i can get access to the files, where are the emails stored?

Many thanks,
Daniel.

==========================================

the email data is usually stored here:

C:\Documents and Settings\*Username*\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

They won’t be stored as single items but as pst files, if in doubt back the entire folder up and then once you have formatted and reinstall, copy them back across to that destination (once you have reinstalled Outlook2003).

================================================

Re: Where are Outlook 2003 emails stored?
I would like to add an additional note to this thread that might make things easier for some new users.

“Local Settings” is a hidden folder.

So, in order to access,
“C:\Documents and Settings\*Username*\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook”

While in Windows Explorer
1. Click on “Tools” in the top menu
2. drop-down and click on “Folder Options”
3. On Folder Option window, click on “View”
4. put dot next to “Show hidden files and folders”
5. click “Apply” then “OK”

Now, users will be able to see the folders and files in “Local Settings”

=============================================================

Transferring data to a new profile – Thunderbird

Sometimes when you have problems with Thunderbird and can’t figure out what’s wrong, it’s easier to create a new profile and transfer any data you want to save, rather than keep trying to fix your existing profile. This article is also useful if you want to merge multiple profiles. If you’re using Firefox or SeaMonkey, see Transferring data to a new profile – Firefox or Transferring data to a new profile – SeaMonkey.

See Move to a new PC or Moving your profile folder – Thunderbird instead if your profile is okay and you just want to move it.
Preparation

Since you may be copying files over existing files with the same name, its a good idea to first back up your profiles as a precaution. MozBackup is a popular way to do that if you use Windows.

You may also want to compact your folders using File -> Compact Folders to avoid copying “deleted” messages that haven’t been physically deleted yet (they’re just marked for deletion and hidden from view).

Create a new profile, if you haven’t done so already. To do this, completely close Thunderbird by choosing File -> Exit (or Quit). Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile. Make note of the name you give to the new profile so you can distinguish between the old and the new. Then completely close Thunderbird.
[edit]
Identify what you want to salvage

If you haven’t identified what set of files is causing your problem, it’s recommended you copy files from your old profile folder to the new one in several steps, testing whether things are still working okay between steps. Since re-entering your account settings can be error prone (and you need accounts to check whether a lot of the functionality is working), it’s frequently a good idea to copy them first.

A list of files used to store each type of data is provided below. It’s recommended that you only copy data that you either can’t recreate (such as messages) or would be a lot of work to recreate (such as address books and account settings) to the new profile. Its frequently quicker to re-install or re-configure something than to spend time debugging what you did wrong. This article assumes you’re using Thunderbird 1.5 or later. If you’re using a older version, you may need to look at Files and folders in the profile – Thunderbird to see if there are any changes that affect you.
[edit]
Account settings

user.js (an optional file) and prefs.js

You may need to manually edit the paths in prefs.js to reflect the new profile location. If the new profile doesn’t have the same extensions, you may have some unused preferences set by those extensions, but that usually doesn’t harm anything.
[edit]
Add-ons

extensions directory – Themes and Extensions.

Delete the extensions.ini, extensions.cache and extensions.rdf files in the directory. They will be regenerated when you start Thunderbird. This avoids potential problems due to old paths.

A few extensions store data in additional files in the profile, usually at the top of the directory. For example, the Lightning extension uses *.sdb files to store calendars. You’ll need to move them separately.
[edit]
Address books

abook.mab and history.mab – Personal and Collected Addresses address books.

If you have any other address books, Thunderbird will ignore them if you just copy them. See this article for how to migrate them.
[edit]
Cookies

    cookies.txt

Thunderbird disables cookies by default. If you have any, they might be for the webmail extension.
[edit]
Dictionaries

persdict.dat – (optional) Personal spelling dictionary

Any other optional dictionaries (such as the UK version of the English dictionary) are extensions. Your default dictionary is installed as part of Thunderbird and is not part of your profile.
[edit]
Mail

    Mail directory – POP accounts
Local Folders directory – Global inbox and/or locally stored messages. It’s in the Mail directory.
ImapMail directory – IMAP accounts

popstate.dat (in each POP account directory) – Keeps track of which messages have been downloaded from the POP server.
msgFilterRules.dat (in each account directory) – Message filters

The simplest way to migrate your mail is to copy Mail and ImapMail (and their sub directories) to the top directory in the new profile, overwriting the existing ones. See Empty folders if it doesn’t work.

However, the safest way is to use the ImportExportTools extension to import whatever folders you want to keep. When you run the menu command, it gives you the option of selecting a directory and having it find and select all of the folders in that directory and its subdirectories. See Importing folders for how to install and use that extension.

See this article if you are an advanced user and want to manually move several folders.

You need to copy the popstate.dat file for each POP account to prevent Thunderbird from downloading all of the messages for that server again (assuming they haven’t been deleted). If you have any message filters, they’re also stored in each account directory. If you copied the Mail directory, then you have already copied those files.

If you stored your attachments in a separate directory, you need to also copy that directory. By default, attachments are stored within the mail folder with the messages (you don’t have to do anything).

If you didn’t copy the existing account settings, you will need to create new accounts. If you recreate a POP or IMAP account using the same mail server in Tools -> Account Settings -> Server Settings, it should reuse the directories you copied. For example, Gmail uses a pop.gmail.com server, so it will always create a pop.gmail.com subdirectory within the Mail directory to store everything for that account. However, if you have multiple mail accounts with the same mail server, it’s going to add a suffix (localhost-1, localhost-2 etc.) to the mail account directory, and you’ll need to figure out which directory is used for each account. In that case, it’s probably best to avoid this problem by using the ImportExportTools extension.
[edit]
Less important mail and news files

mimeTypes.rdf – Actions to perform on downloaded files
virtualfolders.dat – Saved Search folder settings
training.dat – Custom training for Junk Mail Controls
mailviews.dat – Custom message views

If you want to migrate these files, save them for last.
[edit]
Lightning add-on

    cookies.sqlite – Lightning’s cookies are stored separately
permissions.sqlite – Permissions
storage.sdb – Calendar data

[edit]
News

News directory – Newsgroups messages and settings.
hostinfo.dat in News directory – Lists all the newsgroups available for the current server
msgFilterRules.dat – Message filters for the newsgroups
*.rc in News – subscribed newsgroups

If necessary, create a new “newsgroup” account for each news server in the new profile (“File -> New -> Account”), then close Thunderbird and copy over the “News” folder contents.
[edit]
Saved passwords

key3.db – Key database for passwords. The two other files require it.
signons.txt Saved passwords.
cert8.db Security certificates used by SSL etc.

Normally you would copy all three of these files or none of them.

How to Hard Reset the Rogers Dream – on 7 Jan 2010 10:18 AM

A master reset restores the original factory settings and will erase all downloaded content, including ringtones, contacts stored in the handset memory, etc. It does not erase data stored on the SIM card or memory card (if available). Back up all necessary data on the device memory before proceeding.

Menu Path Method:
From the Home screen, press the Menu Button and select Settings.
Select SD & phone storage.
Select Factory data reset.
Select Reset phone.
Select Erase everything.
The device will dump all of the data and reload.

Key Stroke Method
Power the device OFF.
Press the Home Key and the Power Button until the device vibrates (quickly) and the Rogers Logo Flashes.
You should now have a screen with a Warning Triangle on it.
Slide open the keyboard and press ALT and L; this should bring you to the System Recovery Utility.
Press ALT and W to start the recovery process.
Once the process is complete, it will show “Data Wipe Complete”.
Press the Home Key and the Back Button to reboot the device.

I hope this helps someone!

QUOTE(May 8 2007, 09:57 PM) *
Hi – I have this same problem. I log into Win XP, but it immediately logs out…All modes including safe mode do this. I enter Recovery console and do the COPY USERINIT.EXE WSAUPDATER.EXE in system32, but that doesn’t work either. I know it copies the file and I am doing everything correct. I searched all over the net and have found NO other solution if the wsaupdater replace doesn’t work. Does anyone know any useful nformation to help me fix this problem? Thanks in advance…Any help is greatly appreciated…

FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT CANNOT GET THE COPY USERINIT.EXE WSAUPDATER.EXE TO WORK –> PLEASE READ THIS

OK, I read an old post from annoyances.org, way back in 2004, it is practically the only one that differs from all the others, THIS worked for me, where the copy userinit.exe wsaupdater.exe did NOT:

Article post: NOTE I am modifying the post to how it worked for ME

http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1096561524?s

1) Use the XP disk and go into the Recovery Console
2) “We need to replace the software hive with a previous good backup.”
a.) type cd system32\config enter
b.) type ren software software.old enter
This renames the current software hive to software.old
c.) type copy C:\windows\repair\software enter
It should say “1 file(s) copied”
d.) type exit
this will leave recovery console
3) Hit F8 before Windows starts to enter Safe Mode – You should hopefully be able to log in now
4) Now we need to Fix the registry
a.) Start–>Run–> type regedit, enter
b.) Select/Highlight HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
c.) Hit File–>Load Hive
d.) Find where you saved the software.old file (C:\windows\system32\config\software.old)
e.) Just name it test
5) THIS IS WHERE MY FIX Differs from the previous post
a.) Navigate to test\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon
b.) Look for the Userinit field
c.) Mine was blank which was causing the log off loop, others had wsaupdater.exe in this key
- Double click on the ky and type C:\windows\system32\userinit.exe,
Note: if anything differs repeat step 5 with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon
6) Restart and log back into Recovery Console
7) Restore the original hive now
a.) type cd system32\config enter
b.) type del software enter
c.) type ren software.old software enter
d.) type exit enter
Log back into Windows normally. This worked for me and I hope you find that it also works for you! Thanks, good luck

=========================================================================

Option 2:

Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum

This is apparently a relatively new problem and I just found an awesome post up on
the Ad-Aware website that corrects this problem. I and a lot of others have used
this and it works perfectly. There’s a peice of spyware called the usaupdater.exe
which apparently comes from Blazefind. When Ad-Aware removes Blazefind is when the
problems occur. Hope this works for you!

Norm

HERE’S THE POST:

I haven’t tested this. I used a similar method on a customer’s computer and it worked.

Second NOTE: Most of these steps assume that Windows is installed to C:\windows.
If your installation is not in C:\windows, then please change the paths in my instructions
to where your installation is.

OK, I just had a customer that had this problem and here is how I resolved it. I
limited the steps some to (hopefully) make it easier.

First things first get to recovery console using previous methods provided. If you
are unsure of how to get to recovery console look at the previous methods of resolving
this problem and they explain it.

OK, now that we are at recovery console, we need to replace the software hive with
a previous good backup. It should look something like this:
C:\windows>cd system32\config
C:\windows\system32\config>ren software software.old
This renames the current software hive to software.old
C:\windows\system32\config>copy C:\windows\repair\software
It should say “1 file(s) copied”
NOTE: After the next step you will want to remove the cd, then boot into safe mode.
If you do not boot into safe mode in Windows XP it may prompt you to reactivate and
you may not be able to get into Windows.

C:\windows\system32\config>exit

Now hit the F8 key and boot into safe mode. Logon to the administrator account when
you reach the welcome screen. Hopefully you will be able to logon.

Now we need to edit your old registry to change the path to the userinit.exe file:
open regedit.exe
Highlight HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (note: this is important, if you do not highlight this
the next step will not work)
goto file – load hive…
Now select your old registry file which should be in C:\windows\system32\config\software.old
It will ask you what to name it, if you don’t understand, just type “test”.
Now navigate to the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\microsoft\windows
nt\currentversion\winlogon.
Look at what the userinit value is. On my customer’s machine it was %system32%\userinit.exe
which is invalid.

NOTE: If you can, post what your value is when you look at this.

Next change the value to read C:\windows\system32\userinit.exe

Now close the registry editor, and we need to go back to recovery console to put
your original registry back which should look like this:
C:\windows>cd system32\config
C:\windows\system32\config>del software
C:\windows\system32\config>ren software.old software
C:\windows\system32\config>exit

This (in theory) should get you back into Windows.

Please post here what your results are so that we can have some good feedback on
the solution.

My theory is that Adaware SE is fixing the wsaupdater.exe problem, but it is setting
the value in the registry to %system32%\userinit.exe which does not work on all systems.

Let me know if this helps.
